Creating Hope Through Action (World Suicide Prevention Day)
Suicide can be prevented. Effective behavioral health care, life skills, a sense of purpose—including connectedness to individuals, family members, colleagues, community, and social institutions—are among the important factors that help protect people from suicide.
The online seminar is a recorded, on-demand event and will be released on your Employee Assistance Program website on September 10th. The seminar will be available for quite some time after, so you can choose a time and day to view that works best for you.
Participants will benefit by
- Recognizing warning signs of someone who is dealing with depression and other psychological problems
- Learning how to respond and communicate effectively with individuals who are thinking about suicide and how to provide safe space
- Connecting them with life-saving intervention resources
- Understanding the impact of suicide and suicide attempt on families and colleagues
