When Geopolitical Conflict Enters the Workplace (Roundtable)

When there is geopolitical conflict in any part of the world, the effects are felt around the globe. The impact spills over into workplaces, as employees react with personal views and opinions that are influenced by their personal history, national loyalties, and allegiances. Tensions are high; employees are anxious and frightened for their countries, their loved ones in war zones, and the future—which includes many unknowns related to the expansion of the conflict.

Understandably, when these conversations appear in the workplace, flare-ups can occur with very little provocation; the environment becomes tense, the workday is disrupted, and the work environment no longer feels healthy and safe. Once again, managers and supervisors are faced with navigating these highly charged situations and bringing stability to the workplace.

This roundtable discussion addresses the leadership challenge to keep the workplace healthy, safe, and focused on work. It will address the challenge for leaders who remain front and center maintaining a neutral position while challenged with keeping the workplace environment safe.
